For those following the development of the Pandora handheld console, an exciting time is upon us. Pre-orders are now being taken for this amazingly small, yet powerful device. The initial batch was supposed to be limited to 3000 units but demand has been so great that Craig (head developer) and co have extended the availability to anyone who orders by this coming Sunday, October 5th. Here are the basic vitals of the device and you can read more about it and pre-order if you’d like on the OpenPandora.org website:

- ARM® Cortex™-A8 600Mhz+ CPU running Linux
- 430-MHz TMS320C64x+™ DSP Core
- PowerVR SGX OpenGL 2.0 ES compliant 3D hardware
- 800×480 4.3″ 16.7 million colours touchscreen LCD
- Wifi 802.11b/g, Bluetooth & High Speed USB 2.0 Host

Welcome new readers and welcome back old ones who still bother to check us out!
DamagedGoodz dotNet is now in its fourth incarnation but we’re back and, well, mostly the same as ever but this time it’ll be different! I swear!
I’ve salvaged as many of the old articles as possible from the previous two aborted fetuses of a site. What about the original DGz site? It’s still up and running somewhere on the intertubes. I’ll leave it as a challenge to the reader to go out and find it.
The site layout and whatnot is very much work in progress. And it’ll probably be slow work indeed. Damnit Jim, I’m an engineer not a web designer! If something is really broken, drop me an email and I’ll take a look. Some of the articles didn’t entirely survive the transfer. Once I track down the people who wrote them and somehow convince them to continue writing for the site, I’ll see about getting those fixed.
I’ve failed at websiting three times now, let’s make this one count!

Welcome to the first installment of I lol’d. The goal of this series is not to be timely or cutting edge, but to provide a dumping ground for any random things we found on the interwebs that made us smile, facepalm, chuckle quietly to ourselves, or even spit coffee all over our PC’s at work. Hurrrrr durrrrr.
I’ve been looking for the source of these amusing comics for a while. I was finally pointed to this video which explains the whole thing. Apparently this clip is from a Japanese TV show about how to piss people off?

The GDC news that Kotaku broke (at great discomfort) a half-week early about Sony’s plans for the PS3 was lightly detailed yesterday. The new Sony “Home” concept seems like a blending of the Mii Channel with Xbox Live A/V chat and Achievements, the Sims Online, and Gamespy. Overall it’s quite exciting thinking about that metaphor potentially even replacing the XMB. Similarlly, “Little Big Planet” looks like a fantastic blend of puzzle-solving, platforming, and cooperative gameplay. I highly recommend downloading the “Little Big Planet” video in HD if possible, its the first title since GT HD, FF XIII, and MGS4 that looks incredible IMHO.

Most of you have probably noticed the addition of the Tech Ramble RSS feed (thanks Terry!) to the DamagedGoodz webpage, and if you had taken one step further to actually view one of the postings, you would realize that I have not ranted recently about tech. I would just like to say that I intend to ramble soon enough, once I stop being so lazy and actually put together a list of tech topics I’ve had on my mind, but in the meantime, I do have a few words.
