dear /mgln/,

I've noticed that them Nanoha StikerS manga scalations were done based on Chinese scans. Would any kind anonymous please tell me where do you guys get those Chinese scans?

I'm a chink, and I can read/write Chinese pretty damned well, but I've never been to much Chinese sites since using the Internets 10 years ago. Mainly due to their terrible design (fucking seizure inducing banners everywhere! gay colored texts for forums! etc.). I'd appreciate it verily if I could get a link or two on where you people get your Chinese scans.

I meant by the StrikerS manga, not the Nanoha R's parody in Entropymax. I've saw some slip-ups in chapter 4's scanlation, where they left the Chinese sound effects and some dialogues unedited in their Chinese text, as seen here, for example:

I half-fixed the typos in the preview Wednesday night, and then I realized I only half-fixed them yesterday afternoon.

They've both been fixed now and the encode is sitting on my hard drive at home. I hope I get some time this afternoon between work and moving into a new apartment to release it.

The Raging Heart Collection - Season 1 (8)

For those of you who just can't stand Raising Heart (about 50% of the internet apparently), I took the liberty of performing a search and replace in the scripts for season 1. Enjoy your slightly angrier sounding magical device.

You should be able to simply extract this to the same directory as the released episodes and programs utilizing VSFilter (aka DirectVOBSub) will recognize their existence automatically when you open the episode. Optionally, you can re-mux the mkv files and simply replace the original softsub with the one in this zip matching the particular episode. If you have no idea what a .ass file is, I guess you'll just have to live with what you've got :)

A few episodes didn't mention RH at all which is why scripts are missing for those episodes.

Also available is the complete set of fonts used just in the rare event the ones contained in the mkv's themselves aren't being automatically used anymore. You ONLY need to download this if you notice the font used in the original script isn't showing up in the new one. (Please don't laugh at my crappy font choices)

If you have the mkvtoolnix package, you can use the mkvmerge utility like so:

mkvmerge -o 'output/Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha - 01v2.DVD[H264.AAC][DGz][376CC39E].mkv' 'Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha - 01v2.DVD[H264.AAC][DGz][376CC39E].ass' 'Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha - 01v2.DVD[H264.AAC][DGz][376CC39E].mkv'

This will add the new subtitle track as subtitle track 0, keeping the original subtrack as track 1. The result will be placed in the output subdirectory of the current dir (which must exist at the start). I don't know if these utilities are available for windows though (on windows, you'll probably need to use double quotes (") rather than single quotes (') though)

The xvid releases are for the folks that have standalone divx players as well as xbox media center which doesn't have the balls to play h264.

If your computer has no problems playing back h264, go with that one because it's ~50mb smaller than the xvid and should look about the same as far as image quality is concerned. Also, it comes out first usually :P As an added bonus you don't have to look at the OP/ED lyrics and can instead enjoy the music that I'm reasonably sure you're not singing along with anyway...

Got this from the Geneon panel. It's a sort of see-through plastic card the size of a DVD case.

Someone asked a question about them registering nanohadvd.com and the guy's response was (paraphrased) "we'd really, really like to but don't have it yet" so it sounds to me like Geneon is in negotiations for it, but probably only the first two seasons for now.

The Fate you show costs $70 at ACEN, where a smaller one was $60 (almost got them, but passed because I had to resort to Credit Cards on Saturday). I got the (I think only) Nanoha doing her Divine Buster move (something like $70?).
