It was a day later than usual due to thoroughly crappy raws (yes, worse than usual) but here's the h264 version! XviD will encode overnight so watch for it tomorrow sometime.

Here's some adorable Reinforce.

Oh, I supposed you'd like a torrent too:

Why should it be taken as a criticism? There's no definite answer to what the heck she said so it was a fair question to ask. I still don't hear fireball.

We don't want you to feel censored on the board or anything =)

And where the heck are these complaints coming from Katz? I'm yet to hear anyone honestly complain about 'rooms' in Ep2, and if they do... lol.

Oh hell yes.

This is not the only message board they get their comments or input from, they also have IRC. I myself have yet to see anything bad on their channel... however I have also not been on long enough to see it as well. HAHA, well in any case I pay no attention to the whining folks. Nanoha-DGz, keep up the good work, and thanks very much for your efforts as well!

Nanoha Sound Stages (3)

1 Name: Dreadnaught : 2007-04-26 23:05 ID:ra5JdXXO (Image: 128x128 jpg, 7 kb) [Del]

src/1177643111563.jpg: 128x128, 7 kb

Has anyone been so kind as to translate the Nanoha Sound Stages as of yet? While I understand the majority of what's being said, I still like to have the english there too, even if it's just a text file to read along with listening...

If such a thing exists, anyone know where to find it? If not, anyone know anyone willing to do so? Cause that'd be sweet.

2 Name: Varion : 2007-04-27 10:29 ID:QH47fXSm [Del]

Some of them have been done, yeah. They're in a mess in the ASuki forums music thread:

http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=37267

I've been toying with the idea of asking permission to make a 'video' file out of the audio and the subs so you can listen with the translations without getting lost (which has been done for a couple of things like this before) but I probably won't get round to it. Or I'll ask and he'll say no :P

3 Name: Dreadnaught : 2007-04-27 10:49 ID:ra5JdXXO [Del]

Or, you can just go ahead and do it anyways... Seems to have worked out alright for the fine folks here at DGz...
:P

Varion, if you were to do such a thing, you'd have my support and be my new hero for the day.

Your thoughts on StrikerS so far... (10)

1 Name: Anonymous : 2007-04-23 18:48 ID:Io0soTkw [Del]

The first 3 eps already aired and what are your thoughts about StrikerS so far?

For me, I'm a little bit disappointed. Episode 1 was very kickass. But 2&3 were basically just two whole eps about "Let's form a new unit". Nothing really happened except the nonstop praising "Ah Instructor Nanoha" here and so on. But the preview for ep 4 looked promising again.

2 Name: ren : 2007-04-23 19:28 ID:CvYEieFW [Del]

hmm, i think that it's ok for the 1st 3 esp. well, they got to intro some new char, n afterall, thr is a 10 yrs gaps after A's they nid to cover up. not every1 is a manga reader n noe wads going on in between this 10 yrs. but this is a 26 esp long esp, so i think using the 1st few esp to intro n get us to the storyline is not a bad idea =D

3 Name: Prattor : 2007-04-23 20:10 ID:k1oFIuHt [Del]

I think it's a good thing that they are providing some background information and looking at the start of the unit rather than tossing us into the action.

4 Name: cy : 2007-04-24 05:09 ID:xkapHQEg [Del]

yes, for a 13 ep series this would be a slow start....but it had at least double the amount of eps, so it has a lot of time to flesh things out

5 Name: Varion : 2007-04-24 11:13 ID:QyOPF2OP [Del]

It's got plenty of potential at this point. Episode 4 did indeed seem to indicate it's going to get better from here on though as the training arc is pretty much over (not going to say any more for those who haven't watched it), so stick with it. The series won't disappoint, I'm sure of that much.

That said I've enjoyed all the episodes so far, but I can see why people are keen to get into the action after A's :D

6 Name: Anonymous : 2007-04-24 14:25 ID:dN3h4+Rx [Del]

I preferred 2 & 3 to 1. Not too keen on the new cast members.

7 Name: CrimsonDX : 2007-04-24 14:56 ID:sH2vv+V4 [Del]

No complaints here. I like the new cast, eriol most of all. And i agree that since this season is near double that of the last 2 in episodes they should draw out the story a bit more. I really hope they do a good flash back to that event with Nanoha and vita where nanoha gets badly hurt and all. A whole ep dedicated that that event and such would make me very happy ^^

8 Name: Henduluin : 2007-04-24 15:45 ID:HmqCztjg [Del]

No complaints from me so far, aside from a slightly sub-par art level IMO. Still, it's a 26 episode season this time, so I think it's rather unfair to judge it this early as a failure (or a success for that matter).

9 Name: sawari : 2007-04-24 16:12 ID:eM124hus [Del]

Its getting better, nothing but good things about this season so far.

10 Name: Erio : 2007-04-26 21:52 ID:7f7CFc45 [Del]

If we think of Nanoha's first season and A's as a single 26 episode series, the first 13 episodes are like the set-up to the awesomeness of the second half of the series (A's), as Nanoha and the "good guys" have already been introduced and the producers could jump right into the action.

In that sense, StrikerS' slow start is a given, as we need to get used to the new setting (military life vs school life), new world (Midchilda), new characters, and also how our Aces and friends have changed in the last 10 years. Still, I dont think it will need 13 episodes to build all that up. In fact, after episode 4 I believe all the introductions are over.

So far, I'm loving StrikerS for its nice, smooth pace (similar to the first season), and I'm excited to know that it has the potential of becoming even better than A's. As Varion said, the series surely wont disappoint.

Status on EP 4? (14)

1 Name: Kaliton : 2007-04-24 23:32 ID:zMVAMvDx [Del]

I don't mean to badger you guys but I'm just curious what the status is...

5 Name: Kaliton : 2007-04-25 04:18 ID:zMVAMvDx [Del]

Restraint? Patience?

What's that? :p

Seriously man; the last part of your post is uncalled for and very VERY rude. I don't have a working IRC client ok? So I don't have the ability to get into DGz's Channel.

This is my only means of getting updates.

6 Name: ChanLokHang : 2007-04-25 06:24 ID:S2VzD6Z/ [Del]

Perhaps what I said may have been a bit rude and I apologise for it however, it was not excessively rude and it is also the truth. I usually come here to get any news updates as well, but if there is no news I always come back in a few hours or a day to see if there are any updates. If there is still no news I usually wait because most groups do not like people asking when the next episode is going to be released as it shows how impatient and ungreatful I could be.

Getting a working IRC client is not entirely difficult to do, it took me 10 minutes to download, install and get mIRC working the way I like it. I am sure you could do the same if you really wanted to.

So far it seems Nanoha-DGz has been releasing an episode of StrikerS from Thursday to Saturday. I am going to take a guess and say that episode 4 may be released this week on Thursday, Friday or Saturday. Keep a look out each week during those days for each consecutive episode... well assuming their release schedule stays the way it is now.

Hmmmmm... try not to be offended with my posts as I am quite the serious person, well anyone could just ignore me if they do not like me.

A little bit off topic here, I apologise for it but I have been keeping tabs on the three groups working on the StrikerS project... for those whom ar interested.

  • Triad is doing good quality work but doesn't care about its user input and have already made mistakes in their first release. I couldn't tell you any further on their work as the first episode I downloaded from them always crashed my player at multiple points. They have no intension of making a version 2 to resolve these issues. They've already completed the TV versions of the first two seasons for Nanoha.
  • yesy is releasing good quality work but so far they are making mistakes with some translations and terminology in the subs, well at least I think so. It would have been beneficial for yesy to watch the first two seasons of Nanoha before doing this third season. It would have given them a general idea of the story and terminology used before.
  • Nanoha-DGz thus far is doing the best quality work! Their subs are also very great! I am very happy with the results they are producing, and since they've already completed the DVD versions of the first two seasons that makes it an even better! I have high hopes that they will do the DVD version of this new season as well.

If anyone else has any input feel free to add more if you like, it's always good to compliment the group who is doing the best work! Nanoha-DGz keep up the good work and thanks!

7 Name: Katzbalger : 2007-04-25 07:49 ID:KzLMKYuY [Del]

Kaliton. I've read your post, and to answer, Kiety has just finished the translation. As I have received it at 8:30pm and am working the next day, I have no time to sit down and thoroughly go through the process of making the script more English and flowing (that's editing for those who are saying WTF right now).

However, ChanLokHang does have a point. You CAN get an IRC client very easily. I simply typed IRC into google and it was the first link there. Here's the d/l page if you don't want to go through the hassle (http://www.mirc.com/get.html). To connect to #nanoha and #DGz, you must first choose your nick name, alternate nick name and connect to the Rizon server (any random rizon server will do). Once connected, type "/join #nanoha" or "/join #dgz"with out the quotation marks to connect to our channels. I personally don't reside in the #DGz channel, but i do find #nanoha to be more entertaining than most others.

And finally, to respond to CahnLokHang. You don't have to appologise for keeping track of all the groups. In fact, I praise you for it. If you believe that another group is doing a better job than us, feel free to make the switch. However, there are a few things I'd like to point out.

> The Triad has lost all enthusiasm for doing anything Nanoha. They were praying that StrikerS would be licensed so that they wouldn't have to do it. Honestly though, if you don't want to do a series because it no longer interests you, you could always... say... not do it. It seems (may i extenuate that, SEEMS. This isn't my belief either, many others have voiced the same opinion.) that Triad is doing this series because of some Elitism belief that if you start something, you have to see it all the way through to the end. But sometimes it's best to stop before you run yourself into the ground and ruin what it is you're trying to finish. With that said, subbing StrikerS could end up damaging the Triad's great reputation... that is if their behavior to those who d/l and praise them for efforts on Nanoha hasn't already done so.

> I get along with Tux and Kixor from yesy, but I admit to not seeing their releases at all. I'd have to agree with just about everything you've said for the time being, but I do know that they have picked up on translations that we were stuck on and couldn't quite translate correctly. I congratulated Tux for that (he said he'd pass it onto their t/ler... who ever he is 9_9)

> Yes, DGz did release the DVDs of the first two series...! Using Triad's original script and taking the corrections that Triad posts on their websites. Technically we can't claim credit for that, but will anyway. And we will (as far as I know) be doing the DVDs of StrikerS, or Loliplaya will look like a total idiot. First DVD comes out in July.

And I'll go back to touching up the script now.

Post too long. Click to view the whole post or the thread page.

Oh no been away from home for a week+ (cheers for ep 3), and talk about history repeating itself @.@, haha.

11 Name: Gelmax : 2007-04-25 16:13 ID:JQm3CnxG [Del]

To be fair, maligning Triad for ignoring negative input is pretty silly since I have never ever seen a sub group that took criticism well and followed it up with "Thank you sir may I have another". Either they ignore it (the most reasonable option) or they tantrum (funniest thing ever, totally worth a delay of a couple of days as they try to reassure themselves that they are important internet people by trying to hold subs hostage), though occasionally one will joke about it with just a little too much bitterness. I like Triad's candid "screw you" approach, it's delightfully low-drama compared to the passive-aggressive stuff that groups like Mahora tend to throw all over the place. Also, IMO, it seems to me like Triad's not exactly burned out on Nanoha considering that they translated parts of the official website (which isn't an obligation for fansubbing groups no matter how one tries to twist it).

12 Name: Ted Logan : 2007-04-25 22:58 ID:PQsAAPSF [Del]

Indeed. Groups have two choices when faced with criticism and requests. They can either refuse to change a tried and true method (DB), or they can accept input from just about anybody who emails them (Ayu).

Groups like DB are efficient subbers, producing quick, quality releases and only managing two or three series at a time. On the downside, they can be assholes to clueless newbies and have high ban rates, giving them a bad reputation. (GNAA money at work, there. Yay?)

On the other hand, groups like Ayu take too many suggestions. While their releases look nice, they are too bogged down by all the different series they volunteered to sub, and eventually fail under external pressure. (As far as I know, the only releases Ayu still puts out are joints with other groups.)

To be honest, most people, like me, don't care about group politics at the end of the day. The important part is the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of the release. You guys have delivered excellently, and I have no complaints.

13 Name: jiv : 2007-04-25 23:30 ID:xOqUP/M0 [Del]

By the way, does somebody really understand if the people at Triad really like Nanoha or not? One of its main staffers (cant.rembr.name) is always ranting about how much he/she hates it... considering that they have only released one chapter, while they go on with Bokurano*, I think it would be better if they just dropped it. Working in something you dont really care about is likely to end in so-so results. Unless they are just being sarcastic about it and they actually are putting their best efforts into it.
In the end, however, what matters is the end result. And I think both yesy and DGZ are both doing a good job, while Triad's release, like ChanLokHang, crashes sometimes. But i dont really know if it's just that my PC is old and slow :p

*btw, great manga, but i fear gonzo will butcher it like NHK

14 Name: adragoneatsyou : 2007-04-26 12:07 ID:Bedc2dBE [Del]

Kaliton, it's fully possible you may be on a network that blocks IRC. I know personal experience that my college dorm's network prevents anyone from logging onto IRC, even if they have a working client(i.e. my IRC client works at home but not here).

You may be able to trick the network if you use a web-browser based client, but the name of the one I was able to use escapes me at this moment, and it lacks most of the features of a normal IRC client like mirc.

This probably doesn't help much T_T.

About StrikerS Esp3 (65)

1 Name: ren : 2007-04-16 06:51 ID:SKZ/fROp [Del]

i jus wanna noe, how long will the subber nid to sub this esp?? As for esp3, it took quite long then the time tooked to sub esp2.

56 Name: ren : 2007-04-20 12:03 ID:edKWLG79 [Del]

man, i m really desparate for StrikerS. will we get esp3 by tomorrow??? O.O many of my friends has been asking too. hahax

Ara, I am not sure if asking will make it come any faster. Try to be patient like the rest of us. I am one of those people who is waiting yet I am not asking everyday when it will come. I just read and wait... good luck to the rest!

Kiety (the translator), apparently went to Japan, then to Canada, which probably slowed things down.

Is this when you give Kiety a laptop so he/she can work while on the road? hehe! Just kidding ;)

From what I can see though it really is just DGz doing MGLN; so we all need patiance.

First encode failed. Second encode worked. Qcing as we speak. Expect the release in a matter of minutes.

Btw... Sawari, yes, Kiety went to Japan. Apparently he went back home to Canada. No, it didn't really slow things down because he did take a laptop with him. What slowed us down was a lack of raws.

i see...
lack of raws= lack of release quality raws?

Wait this isn't right! h264 before XviD?! Madness!

It turns out it's easier to do the h264 first so for this week, that's how it is. Also remember that the OP/ED lyrics are turned off by default so if you want to see them, flip to the second sub track.

Enjoy!

XviD should be out tomorrow sometime...

I'm not gonna let some random Anonymous correct my native German. We use this word for novels and also while speaking of the past, even though the last point is probably called "noble" or "high" German in your Language. Way to go, Anonymous.

It's "Atem des Bodeneises" not "Atem des Bodeneis". You call that nonsense? I lol'd. This version is grammatically correct and also makes sense in that situation. Never read a german fantasy novel, eh?

This scene was extremely hard to make out because of her "gerpanese", though she definitely says "Boden". You can't avoid that fact even when Nanoha Wikipedia should say some other crap.

Don't like my translation? How about turning your "incorrect" translation off at that scene?

Learn some proper German, and we may be able to talk in a different way.

So long
reiserFS

I'm German myself. And I can guarantee you that she is clearly saying "Atem des Eises". It's simply impossible that shes trying to say "Atem des Bodeneises" because the two additional syllables won't fit in timing-wise. And her pronunciation is crystal-clear. Seems strange to me that you were understanding something else. But guess what? Let's put this matter on hold until Triad releases their version.

And btw your attitude already got yourself the hatred of the german fansub scene. Nice seeing you're trying the same here. I'm just curious where you're trying to run off next to, because there aren't that many places left.

Kaliton - I actually get the impression none of the group like Nanoha anymore. The only one who ever really seemed to was Dragosmore, their translator, and even he seems to be getting sick of it, and as a result they're taking it out on anyone who talks about the show near them, fans or haters alike.

Chan - lol, so do we. I watched season 1 and A's after they'd finished, not used to waiting this long for a Nanoha fix, and the wait's bound to get worse later. Attached image related.

Aand I haven't got a clue on the German seen as all I know is NEIN and random words gathered from Rammstein lyrics. Oh well.

I dont know why people are so anoyed and hatefull of some thing that is done for free by people in there spare time for Us the users to enjoy. If you dont like it you dont have to watch it, No one is makeing you watch it so deal with it and suck it up or wait for Some one else to fan-sub it then download it.

I would like to thank [Nanoha-DGz] again for there fine work and dont like some people ruin it for the rest of Us. Keep up the good work.

BTF16

Anonymous: As it is, reiserFS is our trusty translator. We'd take what he says because we trust him.

We'd hold very little trust in what 4chan says becuase... well... it's 4chan. Nor do we (or I at least) really care what 4chan says.

I completely agree with this good sir. Please do not get discouraged by a couple of asses. The thousands of fans who do not come to these forums are as thankful to you guys for subbing StrikerS as BTF16 and myself.

Thanks a lot!
