so i've finally been able to get through the current 3 released drama cds and i must say, those were pretty nice to listen to. vol. 1 was neat since you get to hear characters from the first season that didn't make the cut in strikers. vol. 2 was even better since it dealt with the relationship of fate and her kids. but vol. 3 was really heart touching for me.

but i there was something i was wondering about. forgot which volume it was in, but there was a scene when teana was talking with subaru and she mentioned something about how she and cross mirage agreed not to use her mode 3 since they weren't skilled enough yet. was i right in my interpretation or did she say something else? if the former is right, then i smell a nice little surprise for the next installment for nanoha ( ^ _ ^ ) i'd rather have a movie than another season though.

It's hard enough to watch anime raw, but for sound stages, it's nearly impossible to understand a thing.

i doubt there would be translations to the sounstages so good luck finding some. it took me 6+ years of learning japanese on my own to finally understand raws without subtitles. i'll tell you now that all the soundstages had lots of character building that they couldn't throw in strikers especially in vol. 3 where rein zwei had a surprise revelation to her near the end of the drama. so heart touching... (T__T)

There are translations for some of the soundstages for seasons 1 and 2, and a partial translation for StrikerS Sound Stage 1.

well soundstage vol. 4 finally came out. it actually wraps the series up pretty nicely compared to how the last minutes of the anime seemed a bit rushed. it seems that this soundstage takes place before everyone goes their seperate ways (before the graduation). the major highlights i got out of it were the effect nanoha had when using the blaster system and nanoha wanting to teach teana how to use starlight breaker because she believes that she will be able to do it(hell yeah!!). more than enough reason to make a movie of the nanoha series.

can't believe i forgot to mention this one: if my translation is correct, i believe all the strikers excluding caro have reached the AA rank with caro being at A+. not too shabby for the former newbies.

Hey guys, it's been a while since I've made a sort of formal post about the state of the site and whatnot.

This particular board has been running for a year, a month, a week, and 3 days now and overall I'm pleased with the level of participation. There are something like 200 threads with a combined total of about 1000 posts with what I think is a good mix of tripfags, namefags, and anonymous posts. So at least it doesn't look like the same person is talking to themselves or the same couple people running all the discussions. Obviously, I still would like to encourage people to POST MOAR and keep up the discussions.

Traffic to the site has been pretty reasonable as well. Obviously there were substantially more visits during months we were releasing things but even lately the visitor count hasn't suffered much. The main reason for this post is I'm looking for answers and suggestions to the following question:

What would you, the poster/lurker/leecher, like to see from this site?

As you can see from the attached graph, the last year's worth of visitors have consumed roughly 115GB of transfer. Unfortunately this isn't even half of what I'm allotted each month. There's no concern about the site going away or turning into some ad/donation supported retardedness but I would like to make better use of it. Feel free to post your suggestions in this thread, find me on IRC, or email me. I'm purposefully being vague here because it is difficult to just start something and get random people interested in it. I do need to maintain a worksafe environment, though, simply because while I don't mind dropping a couple bucks a year for the site, I'd rather not support the fapping habits of thousands. There's plenty of other imageboards for porn.

On a related topic, I should point out that StrikerS is all but dropped at this point. We've been through two translators already and apparently the Nanoha fanbase is a bit too small for more to come crawling out of the woodwork. I don't like leaving things unfinished but it's pretty much out of my hands now. I know I've said this before but this time I think it might really be the end :)

So anyway, that's it for my rant and begging. Carry on folks and thanks for stopping by! I'm sure I'll think of something more profound to say immediately after I click submit but it's late...

I'd suggest allowing duplicate images. Since threads here are never deleted, once a picture is posted, that means it can never be posted again. I think that's rather silly.

Thanks for the suggestions thus far. One of my biggest gripes with the way Animesuki's forums are set up (aside from automatic bans for voicing your opinion >_>) is that there are like 5 threads and you're not allowed to create new ones. That leads to 100 page threads that cover a whole range of topics ("Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Character Creation and Discussion" comes to mind, 800 pages?!) and are impossible to navigate.

On the other hand, I agree that there is a bit of duplicated discussion here. Unfortunately the board software doesn't support any kind of thread management other than deleting posts/files so merging existing posts isn't going to happen. Instead of forcing all discussion into a couple really generic threads, I'll propose a sort of compromise. Since the header of the board has been due for a rewrite/cleanup for a long time, I'll create an "Interesting Threads" list up there somewhere which will contain a list of the 5 - 10 most discussed topics. Hopefully that will nudge visitors in the right direction and reduce duplicated discussions. A search engine for the site would be handy but since the board is based on flat files (no database) the only way to search is to open every thread and scan the file for the search text (which would probably get me suspended again).

Allowing duplicate images is a tricky subject. On the one hand, eventually it'll be impossible to post anything because every common bit of fanart is used up. On the other hand, I can see a few images being reposted like mad because they make excellent witty retorts. It will involve a change to the board code so it may not happen immediately, but I'll give it a shot.

Aside from the imageboard itself, we do also have a danbooru (or rather, a Shimmie which is just like a danbooru but doesn't require a masters in CS to install) that gets a tiny bit of traffic. It mostly contains worksafe anime and/or macro images I've collected in my daily travels across the armpit of the internet (lots of MGLN too). Things like this are kind of what I'm looking to add to the site. Something that people would want to look at in addition to the main imageboard.

The problem I have with FF.net is that most of the fics are yaoi/yuri. Now I have nothing wrong with yaoi/yuri itself, but I only like reading hetero fics. The Nanoha section in particular is mostly Nanoha/Fate. Good hetero fics are few and far between.

Well, you might say "If you have a problem with it, do something about it." Well, I am. I've got this mystery fic all planned out. I'll start writing it soon.

Forgive me, but I don't quite understand your statement.

At any rate, I was refering more to quantity. Though the Nanoha section is a lot better in its yuri to straight content ratio, as opposed to sections I avoid entirely like the My HiME section.

Most readers simply ignore other pairings and go straight for NxF fics. Reviews on other kind of fics, besides NxF, are pretty poor. With a few notable exceptions.
