Coldlight-san, nice encoding, it definitely has more details than DGz's one (i've compared DVD episode 1).

But there are some questions:
1) Why upscale? It will only consume more bitrate and might reduce quality.
2) Why your encode is cropped at the sides compared to DGz's?
3) Why use MP3 for audio whan there are Vorbis and AAC?
4) Maybe, use clean OP/ED?

1. I don't really encode them. I take an already encoded DVD rip and just mux the audio and subs on it. So as far as upscaling, you are asking the wrong guy. :P
2. Again, I only mux them. The other encode I have available is not as clean or clear (many interlacing and lagging issues), so I stick with the present one.
3. I use MP3 because... because... well, just because. If someone tells me that they can't hear the audio because of my choice of sound, then I may change. Also, I use MP3 because using the audio the comes with the DVD rip (ac3) adds about 100MB to the file size.
4. I may decide to do that. In fact, I will give it a shot with the next release.

But thanks for the feedback, I will try to do a clean op/ed and give a different sound encode a shot. And, just to clear up confusion, I am a guy.

Per the suggestions, I encoded the audio using Vorbis OGG format. Also, I have included a clean op/ed track of the subs which is on by default.

There has been a delay with DVD5 due to encoding issues. The RAW encode was over 500MB! OUCH! So I am re-encoding it but not having a lot of luck as of yet.
I am not slacking off (not much :P), just in unfamiliar technological territory with programs that are somewhat buggy.
Worse comes to worse I hope to have DVD5 up by Sunday evening.

Well the dvd shots are better overall and fixing up for some of the obvious mistakes so all the better for us though.

the mistakes and the faces had me cringing or LOLing though.

The thought of "what the hell was I watching back then?" just overwhelmed me.

region 2, can our player here in singapore play it?? or mayb our computers here???

if you configure yor pc.. it can play reginon 2 normally
but you can change the regioncode only 5 times or so.. then its fixed by hte hardware..

You can always RIP it and play the file directly in your computer.
That way the region code does not mater !
You can even make a copies without the region code and play it anywhere.
it also keep your original safe from scratch and various hazard.

And uh, it depends. Most DVD players to my knowledge are either region free, or can be configured to be region free with a bunch of button presses.

As for PC drives, I've never actually managed to get any of the programs that claim to make your drive region free to work. It seems not every type is compatible with them... some probably are though.

Or as Quarn said there's the make a copy, but in this case you have to bear in mind they're dual layer DVDs. It is possible to crush them onto a single layer DVD (hunt out a program called dvdshrink - I tried it with the first DVD and there was pretty much no quality loss) but it's something to bear in mind regardless.

The usual player programs (VLC, mplayer...) include the deCSS code for bypassing region coding on PC, without touching the drive limited-change firmware.

Thisis useful for someone in the English speaking part of region 2.

There was a link to a patching program before to patch the new font style into the mkv files. Can't find mine does anyone remember the name so I can download it.

are you goeing to release subs for the dvd release from DGz?

i hope you'll do it because i like your restyling more than the other (the one that has subbed till ep 3 dvd) ones..

I will most likely do Season 3... as soon as more DVD sources come available from DGz I will restyle their subs.

You do not restyle the MKV, you need to extract the subtitle files from the MKV. Then you can restyle the subtitle file(s).
