Alright this is how the season 1 batch is going to work.

Step 1: I have updated the scripts for episodes 1-6 and corrected a couple typos, as well as update the subtitle styles to more or less match the rest of the series. I have NOT re-encoded the video or audio, but I did flag eps 1-4 as having SBR AAC which won't affect anybody except there's a very slim chance it might fix the problem with audio lag for people using CoreAAC.

Step 2: I am in the process of generating binary patches for the changed episodes. Because these changes are only to the script, the patches are on the order of 10-30kb per episode. They are being generated with XDelta 1.1.3 which is an open source binary patcher available for both Linux, Mac OSX and Windows. Linux users can probably get it from their favorite package manager (apt-get install xdelta on Ubuntu) and OSX users can probably get it via Fink. The Windows executable will be included with the release.

Step 3: Prior to the batch torrent release, I will release a zip file containing the patches, the windows version of xdelta, and a set of Windows and Linux batch scripts that will take care of all the leg work for you. You'll just need to extract the zip into the directory and run the appropriate batch file. The script will take care of making the proper directory and placing the patched files into it. Once that is finished, just move episodes 7-13 to the new directory and you'll be ready to help me seed (I'm really gonna need help on that one) :)

Step 4: After the patching and moving is complete, you can go ahead and delete the files you extracted.

Step 5: ????

Step 6: PROFIT!

For those of you who were waiting for the batch to even start downloading the series, none of this applies to you. Just download the batch torrent when it's released and enjoy!

I'll post both a torrent and direct download link for the patch when its ready. The patches have finished generating and it'll be a whopping 150kb download, plus size of batch scripts and xdelta windows executable. In the mean time, please make sure your filenames match the original ones from the torrents. There should not be any underscores in the filename and if there are, change them back to spaces. If you're able to fire up your torrent client and seed it, you're good to go.

The patch is complete, but I'd like a few people to try it before I publicly post it. Find me on IRC and I'll send you the zip.

All right I made some nice colorful instructions as well as a direct download to the patch files. Before tons of people go nuts on this one, I'd like a couple people to verify that the patch works following the instructions posted and reply to this thread.

SOMEONE PLEASE TRY THIS PATCH

Patch worked fine for me. :)

7 Name: Miles Teg : 2006-10-29 13:42 ID:9lOg5+VQ [Del]

Patch tested with a Mandriva 2007 and no problem.

I'm ready to seed as soon as the torrent is released :D

ps : For xDelta -> urpmi xdelta ;)

Patch has succeded.
Private DmonHiro reporting for seeding, sir!

Patch worked on WinXP for me, but boy was there a lot of disk thrashing as xdelta's memory usage shot up as it patched each file - there should be a warning to make sure you've got around 250 MB RAM free before usage :p

Thanks to all who tested the patch. I was originally hoping for a simple rename and resume torrent setup, but my tests showed that exactly 100% of each original file would need to be downloaded again.

If you're just joining us now, you can download the batch torrent HERE and if you already have the episodes from the individual torrents, go HERE to download a patch to bring the first few episodes up to date.

IMPORTANT: Torrents for episodes 7-13 will be deleted from the tracker at noon tomorrow (Monday, 30th) and torrents for eps 1-6 will be deleted some time later. The torrent files themselves will be deleted immediately so grab the batch if you're looking for episodes.

Thanks for watching! There will be a short break before I start working on A's to make sure it gets done right the first time. I'll post some info on the status of that once I get some planning done.

I just realized it's incredibly dumb to split the peers over so many torrents so all torrents except the 11-13 have been removed. 11-13 will be removed when their number of downloaders drops a bit but not later than Tuesday.

For those who were in the process of downloading 1-6 from individual torrents, you can run the v2 patch on what you have and it will probably work on the complete files. I'm not exactly sure how the script will work if a single patch fails in the middle but you should be able to salvage something.

All I've done is steal someone else's subs and put them in a prettier container. I would, however, be completely down for doing a legit subbing operation on StrikerS if anyone wants to volunteer as a translator. Frankly, I'll sub pretty much anything in the current season that doesn't already have a group doing it if a translator steps forward.

As you can tell I'm a big fan of imageboards which is where I spend most of my free time. So as it stands my software tells me I have 943 MGLN related pics.

>>16
Make that 944 :)

Thanks to all for seeding, we're making significant progress.

Ok guys...um...help?
I'm having playback issues with this batch.
I know, I'm probably not looking in the correct place but I feel I should post it anyway. I hope I'm not the only one with this issue.

So, I downloaded the entire Nanoha batch, seeding right now.
The problem comes when I try to play ANY file from the batch.
Most notably ep 1v2 and ep 13.
As soon as the video is about to appear....windows XP reboots.
Just like that. Every single time.
It used to work before, but I dont know wether that was before or after I reinstalled XP.

I'm using the latest CCCP, clean installed. Latest Nvidia drivers and I have an XFX GF6200. Athlon XP2800+, 512 RAM, XP Pro, yaddayaddayadda.
I can play other MKV's fine but these nanoha eps seem to screw up my system.

Anyone have an idea where to start troubleshooting?

Humm they work just fine for me, what was the last error listed aroud the time of the reboot on your event log? Also try downloading the Insurgent from : http://www.cccp-project.net/ run it and post for help in there fourms. They know best.

Thats an excerpt from the beta Insurgent.

It SEEMS that the high sampling rate, possibly in combination with other factors, is making my soundcard(drivers) cry and die.
...hard.
I switched to another sounddevice(onboard) in Windows and I can play the file back fine.

I was using a Terratec DMX Xfire 1024
I also tried reinstalling the drivers from their page(discont'd products) but to no avail.

I'm using the onboard chip that's integrated onto the Asus A7V600 mobo.

What I found WAS working with the Xfire, was forcing the FFdshow audio filter to resample anything above 48000 Hz down to 48000.
One of the CCCP guys recommended it. It works.
I switched back to the onboard card for now, I can use the Xfire at any time though.

Whoever's encoding might want to take these thigns into consideration. Or not, it's up to you :)

Well Nero Digital's AAC encoder is hereby nixed from the project. I just did 2 sample encodes, one with NDAAC and one with FAAC at the same settings. Upon playing the outputted mp4's directly from each encoder they both reported 48khz sampling rate like they were supposed to. BUT, after running them through mkvmerge and producing a pair of mkv files, the NDAAC mkv reported 96khz sampling rate upon playback while the FAAC mkv reported the correct 48khz rate.

In both cases they were encoded at the same bitrate and both set to AAC_LC. This is apparently a bug in ndaacenc which sets the wrong flags in its mp4 output (or maybe the SSE2 version only?). In any case, season 2 will be using FAAC's encoder. Feel free to toss some flaming spears in Nero's direction for me :)

Been watching some of the eps of your version of Lyrical Nanoha and other than a few typos, such as in ep 6 where jewel seed XIX is subbed as XIV, you've done a pretty good job. Of course, some of the mis translations most people won't catch, but that one was obvious (since it did show XIX on the jewel right before Fate said the number). Anyways, good work so far ^_^ (personally I don't mind styled subs, but as long as you can read them I'm fine).
