Obviously it's WAY too early to think seriously about this, but I'd like to find out the fansub interest in this series.
Don't just post and say "Yeah, do it!" I'm looking for posts along the lines of "Yeah, do it! I/someone I know will volunteer to translate!"
As of now I am offering my services of being able to do the busy work if a translator should like to join. The goal would be weekly releases with similar format to how the A's DVD releases went. So it all boils down to: No translator, no project :(
about the Fansub...The Triad will do the new series for Nanoha
see this :
http://www.the-triad.org/index.php?module=ContentExpress&func=display&ceid=1
I don't know if there are more groups..
but they said it's gonna be 26 ep o_o cool right !!
about the help for the translation..let us know =)
The people at Triad seem to not like the idea of 26 episodes though...what does it matter...just means more fighting with a couple of side stuff...
Hell, when you think the combined episodes of Nanoha and A's which is 26 episodes, StrikerS will probably just be like that...
There are quite a few new characters in StrikerS that I think a 13 episode series wouldn't be enough to thoroughly introduce them all. Plus they're going to have to explain the time skip between A's and StrikerS since they certainly can't assume everyone has read the manga.
This doesn't mean that it'll be 26 episodes of epic drama and action. There will very likely be the typical hot springs ep, beach episode, or some other kind of filler you'd find in other 26 episode series. Overall though, I have a feeling the new season won't disappoint. Just try to avoid the hype that turns other highly anticipated shows into trash when you finally sit down to watch them.
Yeah, I thought that was one of the reasons why they did 26 episodes, besides that the first 2 series were popular so they figure more episodes might make it better...
But yeah, I don't really care what people say or really read anything that mentions something bad about an anime I'd like...I've seen some posts, mostly in 4chan, berating and thinking some of the anime I like (and have) are trash, annoying...
Oh, and I'd like to help out with the translating, but I'm still a newb in japanese language and its still a bit hard to understand some of the longer japanese sentences and such...
Any news about possibly working on StrikerS? The Triad reported rumors of the series maybe getting licensed, which would mean they would drop it.
http://www.the-triad.org/index.php?name=News&file=article&sid=437
And I haven't heard of any other groups even thinking about working on StrikerS.
The licensing scare was part of Geneon's recent contest and it turned out not to have been licensed (Higurashi no naku koro ni was instead). In that case you probably don't need to worry about Triad dropping it.
I've suddenly become crazy busy with my last semester at university so unless there is a really compelling reason/motivation to do it, DGz probably won't. At this point I only feel like putting the effort into it if an HDTV source is available (I'm an A/V quality nerd, though you may not have guessed it from my encodes :/ ) as well as the overhanging problem of not knowing anyone who would translate for me needs to be solved.
I actually want this liscensed...but I want to have them wait until we're done with StrikerS...
>Plus they're going to have to explain the time skip between A's and StrikerS since they certainly can't assume everyone has read the manga.
Wait, wait. There's a manga that covers the time gap?
What's the name of it, and do you have any idea where I can get it?
@Valdrax
Get them from BitTorrent.
Yes there is a manga and its hosted at http://www.deadfrog.us/index.php?act=category&id=25 you can also find updates at 4chans /t or /r section. You have to go throu the list to find the torrants.
What's the name of the manga? Is it "Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS the comic," or does that manga just cover the current storyline instead of the time in between?
Given the possibility that there might be multiple Nanoha mangas, I need to know the name of the series so that I can be sure I have the right one. Thanks in advance.
Firemage's link is the best choice... it has the Nanoha A's Manga... as well as the StrikerS's Manga... hopefully they will add newer releases as they become available to their site.
The manga was sweet... can't wait till the next release if there is one.
If you note the end of the 3rd part is says to being continued in StrikerS

I finally got a chance to read them, so if anyone else is wondering what I was wondering since the question was only partially answered, all of the manga chapters on the bookofdarkness.com site are side-stories that take place in and around the episodes of the series.
Nanoha A's 0-5: Before and during Nanoha A's
Nanoha A's 6-7: Right after Nanoha A's, but before the time jump.
Nanoha StrikerS: Right after the time jump at the end of Nanoha A's and before the 4 year jump to StrikerS
Actually, the StrikerS manga continues after chapter 3. The fourth chapter is set (if i remember correctly) just a month before the start of the anime and introduces Subaru, Tiana and the others. I have seen untranslated chapter up to the sixth floating around, and someone at 4chan has translated chapter 4.
Mmm, sorry i have written the wrong times: 4-6 are set a year after 1-3, and 7 just before the anime. The mission carried on chapter 1-3 finishes at the end of april year 71, just when subaru arrives at the airport when the accident portraied in the anime occours. 4-6 starts with Subaru and Tiana encounter : june, year 72. Dont know exact date for 7, but it should a month before april 75.
