I'm re-watching Slayers this week.
And I just had the revelation: Subaru is a female Gourry. Powerful and efficient when it counts, and a complete airhead the rest of the time.

Subaru and Gourry doesn't wear a bra... well, Gourry is a guy, but Subaru D;

Slayers was actually my first anime...at least I think so. Oh the memories. :)

Back on the subject: right now I'm watching StrikerS, Slayers, and reading the great Darkover series (by Marion Zimmer Bradley). And I kinda mix all that in my poor head, and lose track of who can do what kind of magic in which series.

Gyaaaahahahaha, I laughed when I saw this scene. I thought it suited Subaru perfectly! I had a feeling that sooner or later there'd be some ecchi in Nanoha StrikerS! HAHAHA very well done in my books!

Quite classical: Subaru does or says somehing inappropriate, and Tiana hits her.
They're the perfect Boke and Tsukkomi couple. Too bad Tiana doesn't use a fan.

I really liked Slayers because Lina isn't your typical I-am-a-saint-and-can-do-no-wrong protagonist. She can be a real b*tch when she wants/needs to and I think that's admirable. haha. ;)

Now I remembered something similar in Magical Project S (with previous Nanoha seasons):

Nanoha = Sasami
Yuuno = Ryo-Okhi
Fate = Misao

At first enemies later friends, and also some "technology" in magical wand...
Except that this is a complete parody to magical girls. Indeed.

When I first watched the first few episodes of season 1, I couldn't help thinking about Card Captor Sakura. Even now I'm sure Nanoha's creators had watched CCS:
