Even with a listen port bigger than 7000, with RC4 encryption enabled?
It's actually quite hard to completely block bittorrent -- especially if you have a smart client like Azureus or Utorrent.

How do you think I download the raws -_-
>>12
My Azureus is filled up with downloading Hayate the Combat Butler and Mai-Otome Zwei...
Don't think I'll able to download another unless I risk getting a burnout for my ext-HDD.

C'mon, Fabien! You can upload it for us, right?
looks at Fabien with puppy-dawg eyes

// joy, i found an old file with some strikers stuff while cleaning out from the 40gb hdd... //

So, you can download of few GB worth of anime with Azureus, but not a few MB worth of manga? I kinda don't understand.

If you want me to upload the manga on a web system, just give me an account name and password.

There! All you need to do is click on Browse, select the file, and click Upload!
^_^

Anyways, I can't download no more due to that I ran out of CD-Rs few days ago to store anime (;´Д`)

I... am so overjoyed!
But uhh... Fabien, what do I use to open *.par2 file?
I can see the file type even before I can download them...

As far as I know, PAR2 is a Parity Archive Volume Set... and that's mostly used on Usenext and RAID...

D;

Heck, but I thank you for uploading them xD

Here, the par2 file has the same role as a SFV. I tend to automatically add such a file when I post several files at once; however, since we're talking about ZIP files here, with internal CRC32 check, you can safely ignore the PAR2.

To answer your question: a PAR2 file is created and/or read with Par2cmdline or Quickpar. Both are free and easily found on Google.

Normally, the PAR2 system (which principle is similar to the one used in RAID-5) is a redundancy system.

Let's say you have 600 MB of data, and want to burn them on a CD-R. Since you have a bit more room on the CD-R, you can add 15% PAR2 recovery: along with the data files, you add 90 MB worth of xxx.par2 files (created with Quickpar).
Now imagine that when you read the CD-R a few months later, part of it is unreadable. You'll try to copy the good sectors to your hard disk, but end up with damaged and/or missing files. As long as you haven't lost more than 90 MB of data, you'll be able to recover all the files.
PAR2 shines whenever some parts of a file (or set of files) wight get partly damaged, but you don't know beforehand which parts.

It's also used on the binary newsgroups on Usenet, for the same reasons (some parts of a file can be damaged/missing, but you don't know which ones).
I'm not sure what "Usenext" is, but I think it's just some way (and not the better one) to download files from Usenet.

Like I said, including a PAR2 file here was more a reflex than anything, but that system is worth investigating, especially if you put files onto unreliable media like CD-Rs and DVD-Rs.

Fabien, you rock ヽ(´▽`)ノ

So, what'll happen if the PAR2 system is corrupt?

Then the CD/DVD-R can't recover itself up with PAR2 corrupt, right?

Gee, my parents won't let me buy another EX-HDD (;´Д`)

Then again, I'll be burning multiple CD/DVDs, so that won't really matter (^^;/

Oh yea, and I have a tendency to make spelling errors, so go ahead and correct me on that. Usenet is the correct word, as you said before.

> Fabien, you rock ヽ(´▽`)ノ

Please call me Yurie-sama.

> So, what'll happen if the PAR2 system is corrupt?

Well, there is indeed a few KB of data that will be needed to repair, no matter what.
That data is the whole xxx.par2 file, and the first (small) part of each xxx.volYY+ZZ.par2 file. If you made 10 .par2 files in one set, you'll have 10 copies of that small bits of data. So, redundancy is the key here.

> Gee, my parents won't let me buy another EX-HDD

Buy another internal hard disk instead :-p

> Oh yea, and I have a tendency to make spelling errors,
> so go ahead and correct me on that. Usenet is the correct

It's not always easy to correct typos, when the incorrect word (here, Usenext) actually means something.

No, it is not complete yet. Raws are up to ch10, and will likely go up to 14 (if they keep the same tankoubon length).
