And finally we have episode 8 ready for you. As I mentioned in another thread, they tweaked the OP animation a bit which I've been told is likely because they're preparing for the DVD release at the end of July. It will probably use this version of the OP.

This episode contains something so hard core you just might excrete some masonry (pic related).

PS: From tomorrow through July 4th I will be out of the country so don't expect a release next weekend (you weren't expecting one anyway, were you?). I'll check in once in a while and hopefully this will give us some time to prepare some scripts for the episode we're behind on (though unlikely at our current rate). On a related note we are looking for a translator to assist Kiety in pumping out awesomeness, talk to him on IRC for details.

Also, not as great as Nanoha or CCS, but at least as cute: Otogi-Juushi Akazukin.

This could quite possibly mean that I am the only person left on the interweb that hadn't yet watch Episode 8, or 7 for that matter.

Anyway, mind if I ask if there's a chance the XviD might be released before you're off on your magical journey, JJS? And have a good trip. Don't get kidnapped by the Great Space Coaster.

Ya eps 8

CrystalNova released the 26th (and last) episode of Aria the Natural today, nine months after it was aired.
I don't remember how much time [mahou] needed to fansub Tsukuyomi Moon Phase, but it was well over a year.
Seems like subbing good series take quite a lot of time...

Do you mean you haven't watch episode 13 either? :-p

Well, since you seem patient, I recommend you wait for episode 9 to be released (or just grab yesy's) before you watch episodes 7 and 8. Those three are best watched together.

Lalala...
Watching Kanon 2006 made me feel better in that episode...

Thinking about it, we have threads that are way beyond subbed ones ;P

Doesn't that mean that we understand moon-speak?

Just finished watching episode 8. You weren't kidding about "hard core" :o

>Thinking about it, we have threads that are way beyond subbed ones ;P

After all, this is a MGLN board, not a subbed-MGLN board.
Also, I would have hated not seeing how Nanoha, not afraid of a ridiculously powerful shot in the previous episode, calls for help when "attacked" by a little girl. Or how Fate-chan is great at handling kids and admirals. "Onii-chan" ;-p

>Doesn't that mean that we understand moon-speak?

Well, I did manage to learn English, I suppose I can learn another foreign language.
Besides, http://forums.animesuki.com/forumdisplay.php?f=60 and http://www.animeondvd.com/forum/showtopic.php?tid/20477/tp/12/ help a bit to understand what's going on.

And since I watch each episode of StrikerS a fair number of times, I end up grabbing a bit of the dialogue.

Great work, minna. But raws are piling up to 13 and you guys seemed to have loads of work before you :(

Good luck, all, looking forward to your subs :)

I only watch till Episode 7. Don't really have the time to view raws.

DamagedGoodz team,
Thanks for your great subs!

Although, there is something I want to complain of.
That's the quality of raws.
There are quite annoying artifacts on the edges of moving objects in your latest releases.
Those artifacts are not too much of a problem on a still image, but they are very noticeable in motion.
What are they? Are they deinterlacing artifacts?
Is there anything that can be done about that?
Your first episodes did not have this problem. (At least it was not as bad as it is now)

Thanks again.

> That's the quality of raws.

I don't know what's up with this series, but as a matter of fact, the raws are pretty bad.

> Is there anything that can be done about that?

Deal with it for now, and wait for the DVDs.

Are there any other shows this season?
(I mean, something better than watching StrikerS episode 12 for the 10th time without subtitles?)

Fabien, how about Lucky Star?

We wish we had some better raws to pump out less crappy looking subs with, but unfortunately, StrikerS isn't aired in HD. Yes, that means it's pumped out at normal quality tv, the tv that you used to watch (and for some, you probably still do) one, maybe two years ago. Hell, the very, VERY first raw that comes out after the episode is aired, is some shitty 67MB flv that is great if you want to develop eye cancer. The raws that we're using are the best there are, in fact, some guy who's supposedly living in japan said that the quality of our subs are better than the quality he's seeing on tv. We're giving you the best there is. As Fabien said, you'll have to deal with it until the dvds come out.

>Hell, the very, VERY first raw that comes out
>after the episode is aired, is some shitty 67MB flv

I remember watching Slayers, Kenshin and a few other shows in such a crappy video quality, and in the crappy Real Video player, back in 2001...
Heck, the first anime I watched as an adult was Nausicaa, in 2000, again in that same crappy Real Video.

So after all, Mie/Leet-raws versions of Nanoha aren't that bad.
However, it's surprised to see such low-quality TV in a country I thought was technologically advanced.

Then watch [moyism] HQ raws. They aren't really bad.

>>20
Lucky Star, Kamichama Karin, and Nagasarete Airantou are the only things that I can think of.
Hayate no Gotoku if your computer can handle H264 really well.

Technology advanced enough to create invisible clothes... or so are the rumors.

Woops, I meant it as a transparent cloth that hides a user by implanting a micro/nano sensors within the cloth itself.

Sign me up for a few sets of that outfit. I mean, sweat happens, right? :D~

In regards to the quality of the raws, I was quite surprised to see some tiny punk raws of StrikerS appearing on TT. Brings me back to the days of vivo dumps. laugh I myself assumed that they had already moved every single television channel into the age of HDTV.

From what I can see, DGz is doing a great job at encoding with as little loss as possible, working with the sort of raws they're getting. Props. I actually ran their eps next to yesy in tandem, then blown up to 1600x1200 before deciding which group to follow heh.

>>20

Have you checked out Claymore? Or Seirei no Moribito? They fall loosely into the Older Warrior Woman Protecting Younger Male genre. Pretty good stuff.

There's RomeoxJuliet for unprecedented amounts of fluff and pretty if you're into that. Just have to brace yourself in case Gonzo pulls a fast one with the ending, or worse, follows the real play's ending to the letter.

Towards Terra is decent, Emma season 2 as well. I heard very good things about sola too (Kanon with plot according to some).

This season is actually evil in that there's so much good stuff to follow, my drives are having a hard time keeping up.

Gods, we seriously need a better encoding than H.264 with more compression.

Claymore: I read the manga; I watched a little bit of the anime, but I'm not sure I'll carry on, since it's the same story, only slower.

Seirei no Moribito: I did watch a few episodes; I suppose I'll watch the rest once, but only once it's finished. Otherwise I'll lose interest while waiting.
