I personally won't buy them and stick with my R2 stuff unless they offer some worthwhile extras.

About damn time....took long for them

I am honestly not too happy about this. I wanted to buy Geneon's Fate/Stay Night version, but when I noticed it didn't include anything I gave up. If it turns out they're just using DVD as a VHS with better output I won't waste my money on it.

Why care about extras? If it is a good show then you as someone who may have very well downloaded it, should buy it as well.

I mean i love Bandai's extras that they put with Eureka 7, but sometimes just plain dvds are just fine as well. I just hope that Geneon does a decent speed release.

Why care about extras? Because I pay a lot of money and I don't want just something that resembles a cheap VHS. I don't care about speed releases, I want quality releases.
Outside US, companies put a lot of effort in putting extras (which are not just a crappy box for $10 more, like Fate/stay night).
A good example of a US release was Bandai's Scrapped Princess, which provided a good value (extras in the limited edition) for the price.

A speed release will only give this series a crappy treatment.

I think back to my early anime DVDs like eva and slayers and they didn't have many extras, but the ADV ones came out one every month, rather than geneon's one every two months, i want to see the release rate of the DVDs go faster.

Releases can be fast yet include extras, like a company here is doing for FMA: DVDs are rather timely, but the "extra edition" is quite loaded with stuff. And they're a fraction of the size of ADV and Geneon. So why can't they?

FMA was released by Funimation, their bigger than Both ADV and Geneon.

I am glad to hear that Geneon has the license to these. They are much more forgiving in the fact that they allow the distribution of their series online even though they have licensed it. Unlike ADV or FUNimation! Well, I myself am planning on buying the R2 DVDs for the first two seasons at the end of July... I will later get the third season. When they are released by Geneon, I may also consider buying those.

We're talking about Italian market, which is like 1/100th of the the US Market (average anime DVD sells below 2000 copies here). Yet, the small companies provide DVDs that are better than the mean US DVD release. That's why I say Geneon version needs to get more stuff to be considered worth buying in my eyes.

Does anyone have any idea when this will be released in the UK.

I... am quite glad that Geneon licensed the first 2 seasons, as long as they don't license StrikerS.

thanks god I finished downloading the 2 seasons before it got licensed

Those ADV bitches were saying that AIR was created by the authors of Haruhi Suzumiya no Yuutsu. Better luck on licensing for them :P

Air was animated by Kyoto animation, same studio that did Haruhi, but saying the same authors is a bit far.

I think not licensing StrikerS is just as much a safety move as a PR one, since 52 episodes is alot to license and they don't even know how the first 13+13 will do.

Cant wait to see the sad dubing and the rambit editing of one of my fav anime, like so offen in the past. Lets just hope they dont maken it so crappy, that i just buy the dvds for there covers and never watch them. Like a lot of the other anime i own.

How long did that take?

Wiki says:
Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha (魔法少女リリカルなのは, Mahō Shōjo Ririkaru Nanoha?) is a thirteen episode spin-off of the Triangle Heart series of games and OVAs that aired between October and December of 2004.

Slow license is slow. HAha.

I won't object to a late licensing.
It's definitely better than an early licensing to block fansubs, and then a several-year wait until the R1 DVDs are released.

Back on the subject: ain't it a bit early to have this discussion?
Wait until the 26 episodes are actually released, and then ponder whether to buy or not.
It's not like there's any hurry -- I suppose each one of us has watched every episodes about ten times already.

Please sub the seiyuu extras in the R2 and I will buy it in a flash.
If you don't know what I'm on about, read about R2 extras here:
