To prove how new I am to the series, I want to ask this question. What is the correct spelling? Is it "Zanber" or "Zamber" ?
Oh, and what was the site that listed everything that the devices ever said? I saw it once but forgot to bookmark it.
It's Zanber. The word is japanese, which is quite surprising, but it is a sword.
NanohaWiki has everything, but it's in Japanese.

I think WikiQuotes might have had some, but I can't remember.
stand by, ready - the famous quote of destruction
>>2 Why does Wikipedia and http://nanoha.julynet.jp/ say that it is Zamber?

Probably because some idiot made a mistake when they were typing -.,-

Oh, and there's no m in hiragana, but only n, so that's why.
Ah, I see...
Anyway, does "Zanber" have a meaning, other that it being a form of Bardiche?
Except for a slang for a sleeping pill (xanax), there's nothing I know of.
Ah... reminds me of Tales of Phantasia. Bardiche was a good weapon :]
according to NanohaWiki, it's likely derived from Zanbatou (斬馬刀), which was a type of Japanese sword.
As for the spelling,
wikipedia:
"A zanbatō (斬馬刀, literally "horse-slaying sword" or "horse-chopping saber"), also spelled **zambatō**,"
>>10 So this would mean that "Zamber" is also acceptable, right? Thanks for the info!
I have another question... The OP of A's on ep 13 was suppose to feature Durandal and Schwertkreuz, right? Why does the DVD version still have the Book and S2U?

It's probably because some people don't like to update it to the most current date available :P
Like... games, such as Xenosaga 3.
ooollldddddd (topic).... but anyway...
斬 = zan = cut. This is the onyomi reading of the kanji; onyomi being Sino-Japanese, or the Japanese pronunciation from Chinese. Not "zam" So it's like a combo of "zan" and "saber".
Based on what Bardiche shows when the form activates, it's "Zanber". Pause it and look, you'll see that it's an "n" and not an "m". I got this from the episode of StrikerS when Fate faces Tre and Sette, while Erio and Caro go back to base.
