It's been quiet 'round these parts for an awful long time. Let's mix things up a bit!
Many thanks to our new translator who is juggling this project along with another project and class work. Welcome aboard! In related news, I would like to recruit a translation checker to go over eps 1-8 for errors (there are some obvious and maybe not so obvious errors scattered about) so we can consider doing DVD releases.
And before someone asks, I snagged the clean OP off the DVD so that's why there is a significant quality difference between the OP and the rest of the episode. In the future I'll turn the OP quality down a bit but the raws are all so bad that you probably won't notice it anyway.
Anyway, for the one or maybe two people who haven't seen it yet, here's ep 9. Per usual there will be an XviD version within the next couple days for the quarter of a single person who wants it...

Many thanks to the new translator, i've been waiting for ages to see episode 9 bows
JJS, the DVD release, possible to make a DDL site for that?
YAY DGZ IS BACK

Ha za DGs is back!

Loliplaya21 (site linked up top) seems most interested in a DVD version if we make it that far so I'm guessing (hoping?) he'll host it :) Let's not get ahead of ourselves though...
wow, glad to see this ^^
hope u guyz will produce the DVD version.
Great to see DGz back on the scene. Much good fortune to everyone in the future!
Welcome new translator! I'm happy you take up this project. Phee, yesy's subs are good to watch, but those of DGz are way better. Go DGz
wow! DGz finally back in action again. hope to see DVD release soon. :D
I don't know if this will be of any help in translation checking, but I've been tweaking DGz's subs ever since ep1. I've adjusted what didn't feel right based on yesy's and chinese subs, purely for my own collection.
If you're interested, let me know where I can send them.
Thanks for the hard work!

yeah your twaking of the subs is cool
ive added all to the DGz releases...
Good to see you guys are up and running again!
I host the DGz releases at my site but sofar haven't figured that IRC thingy out on contacting JJS but when DGz releases the DVD eps and someone wants the direct downloads, let me know and i'll post my site ^_^

I was short on time yesterday but in case you don't check TT, the xvid version is available on torrent as well as Nanoha|Files in #nanoha
ah good, I thought I'd have to stay with yesy's subs forever. Hope you guys do a DVD release, too, so I can keep it for the archive. And yeah, the raw quality is extra crap, apparently.

Current plans say yes. Finally. We've got a translation checker to go through the episodes, so the DVD releases should start... at some point, and if we fall much further behind we'll just move to subbing from the DVD raws from the beginning. Anyway, there will be DVD subs.
juz stop the subbing of the normal RAW n work on the DVDs =x
>>22
You can easily copy the subtitle tracks from the TV version to the DVD raws yourself.
It is what I did. though I have yet to encode episodes 4 to 6. I've done 1 to 3 though.
With all this talk about DVD releases, I have a question... Since you all at DGz like multiple subtitle tracks so much, would you put in a track with the official names used? I know you guys don't prefer to use them but there are some people who like them.
I really enjoy your releases. Yesy's is ok, but their work is kind of over-translated and it causes a lot of errors in the translation.
Anyway, do it or not, I would still get your releases. Just a small request...
What names are most official, the ones shown in on screen text or the ones on the website that most likely wasn't assembled by the normal writers?

I would believe it to be those on the site. I mean, they, mostly, match the naming scheme of naming the characters after cars.
>>22
It's not like it takes that long to switch a script intended for TV raws to DVD ones, and if we have a script lying around a month before the DVD we may as well do something with it, right?
>>25
The only one we've gone against the car naming scheme is Tia which is, quite frankly, just because calling her Tea makes me and everyone else cringe and ours is close enough (and closer to how it's actually pronounced). Caro obviously isn't a car and to be quite honest I don't care either way on that one (I use them interchangeably), our original translator just really really liked Kyaro and threatened to leave if we used Caro (and then left anyway, hah!)
Those are the only two right? Unless you're advocating the official site's 'Zafila' anyway. Or suggesting we change Elio's name to Aerio. I'll leave it to JJS to reply but I don't see the point of another sub track just for Caro, as I'm pretty sure Teana makes the rest of the staff cringe as much as me.

^^, dun worry, i will juz wait for the DVD release from DGz take ur time haha.

I'm with Varion... I don't see the point in having a completely new track just for one or two name changes. The names we're using for Kyaro and Tiana ARE official though. They're the official Japanese names, converted directly from the katakana.
But honestly, if you don't like the name's we're using, just extract the subs and change them to what you want, them put it back together again.
