This time the thanks goes to Shelwien for going over our episode 1 script and re-translating (numerous) translation errors. We haven't made it through any further eps yet so we'll trickle them out as they get updated.
Some notes about the release:
Clean OP but a clean ED isn't out yet
This first episode has the OP/ED lyrics turned on, you can switch to track 2 to disable them. Future episodes will be OP/ED lyric-less
I encoded anamorphic this time as sort of an experiment. This means the video is encoded at the native DVD resolution of 720x480 but your PC should automatically stretch it to 848x480. If the video looks squashed make sure you have a recent CCCP etc.
Encode was done within the limits of h264 High Profile level 4.1 which probably doesn't mean anything to anyone (I certainly don't care but someone might)
That's all I can think of. Enjoy the start of the series with revamped video and subtitle quality!
Hurray!

thanks!
is this just higher-quality or does it have any extra scenes / other extras (uncensoring, changed scenes, etc)
StrikerS dvds are just massive animation improvements. However, episode 1 didn't have much wrong so this won't have many changes.
nice work DGz ^^
now juz wait for ddl to be up.
It is on Nanoha|Files (#23) and Nanoha|Buster (#1) on IRC if that sort of DDL fits your fancy.
not from IRC ^^, http would be good. u know, those right click save-as. =D
wow! finally got DVD release. Just a question, will there be any avi format release?
That's what I would like to know, Kyu..
Dont need to degrade the dvd quality with xvid releases... lol
ps. i can finally start watching Strikers! :D
Uploaded DVD episode 1 at my site. Link is at the top of the board but just in case: http://www.freewebs.com/linkplayer/index.html
enjoy the Subaru awesomeness!!! ^^
Please chapter you mkv releases. It makes them so much more convinient. I thought you had just forgotten when ep9 wasn't chaptered, but the DVD ep1 too?
> Dont need to degrade the dvd quality with xvid releases...
You can have, with a Xvid file, the same quality as on a DVD. Only, the file will be bigger than a h264 with the same quality.
> lol
What makes you laugh so much?
Is it possible for a list of translation fixes to be posted?

[19:30] <Lutecia> tsk tsk jjs
[19:34] <JJS> wut
[19:35] <Lutecia> did you intentionally not include chapters in ep9 and dvd ep1 or did you just forget
[19:36] <JJS> i forgot >_>
There you go. He will be harassed to include them in future episodes.
>>15
It's been 2 months since the last release before those, I completely forgot about chapters :x
They will make a reappearance in future releases.
W00T W00T!
Thank you DGZ ^_^
Another suggestion, but you may want to package the japanese font you are using with the MKV. The kanji appear as little boxes on my computer.
If I have a misconception, then just ignore me.
The Japanese fonts add over 20MB more to each file that may be released. I do not think adding them would accomplish anything.
>>22
And anyway, it seems to me that anyone who can read Japanese, already have the right fonts installed.
I do get the little boxes, but that's fine, since they make as much sense to me as kanjis do.
>>21 The issue is with your computer I do believe, not the file. Have you installed all your Japaneses fonts onto your computer? I know that others had this issue with the previous two seasons, but the rest of us don't have any issues with it.
nice work DGz, i have watched the DVD release n i'm very happy with it. it's so farthe best ever, i look forward for more of ur DVD releases. ^^
erm, sry for being rude here, but juz wanna noe, can u guyz give me an idea when ep2 DVD will be out?
Again i apologize for my rudeness. ^^
>>26 "LYNCH THE RUDE ONE" ;)
-Gabe, who also wants to know when he can see more DGZ-nanoha dvd versions, and gets to see the better spellings.

Someone who knows japanese needs to TL check the scripts first. Once that's out of the way we can let 2-9 out the door.
pardon me again, but Shelwien is not the person that check the scripts? >.<
Thx again for the reply ^^

I've been told through the grape vine that things didn't work out so I guess we're still looking for someone on a full-time basis.
>>32 I suggest Using SOS style recruitment methods, you find someone who speaks both languages and drag them off.
;)

LOL, that is funny... agree!
wohooo.....we got a spam bot....get in the car

That's an automated attack. Basically, they flood hundreds of websites, and if one idiot buys one pack of phony medications, they've won.
That was mildly entertaining. Let's let this thread die again...
