This author named Satashi on Fanfiction.net writes some Hayate/Yuuno stuff. It's pretty interesting and I wish he'd write more on that.

YuunoxNanoha is almost guaranteed to whip up a s**tstorm in /a/, whenever anyone posts pics of such. I have no idea why. After all, weren't they THE original pairing in the first series, prior to Fate Testarossa's introduction?

At any rate, the possibility of them is still strong though. I mean look at ep 8 of StrikerS. Fate has Nanoha take over guarding Yuuno and calls Erio and Caro away to give Nanoha and Yuuno time alone. When they are alone they become pretty bashful too. So there's certainly -something- there.

I think Nanoha is too focused on work and stuff to have a proper relationship. At the very least she sees Yuuno as "more than a friend" in the matter that he is something to her that goes above and beyond of ,say, Chrono. Not that this means she wants him in a romantic way, but more of a "trust him with everything" kind of way. If you look for it, you'll see that Nanoha still took baths with Yuuno in ferret form even after she found out he was a male human. In StrikerS it's obvious the two still like each other. But here's a situation. The way they acted to each other can be taken three ways.

1.)People who like each other
2.)Best (more than)friends meeting again after a long time.
3.)A couple who tried dating before but found out they are just friends.

Personally the more I think about it, 3 seems to be the best choice. As in, they tried dating when they were younger (say 14-16ish) and realized that they were just ultra close friends, leading them to StikerS situation where they still blush at each other, but both know where their situation lies ( Read: Nanoha and Yuuno called it off together with no hard feelings, and neither one of them were 'dumped' by the other and only became closer because of it.)

As For Fate..... I can only see her one way, officially.
1.) PLP with Nanoha (Platonic Life Partner)
People who are together, almost like a married couple, but there are no romantic feelings of love. Only a very strong sense of platonic love. AKA, kissing on cheek/lips maybe, raising a child together in situations ( Vivio ) sleeping together, ect. This is to say that, yes, they love each other very much but do not think about a relationship together because there's simply no need for it.

As for otehr relationships.....I can't see any of it offically. XD But still Hayate/Yuuno is cuuuuuuute <3!

For your stance on Nanoha/Yuuno, I myself agree with 1 and 2. Three certainly is a possibility, but by the time of the A's to StrikerS manga (when they're 15) Yuuno has yet to make any sort of progress, and I believe he does mention that work gets in the way. So they could have tried to start a relationship, but I doubt it.

I agree completely with your stance on Nanoha and Fate. Though the more unreasonable people refuse to believe that two girls can be that close and be platonic. Of course it's fine to write shoujo-ai fics and prefer them to be in a sexual relationship. But it's too much to insist that it's 100% canon and burn some one at the stake just because they think differently.

Glad you liked "Come Fly with Me", I put a lot into that one <3

I'm very very open minded about relationships and really enjoy talking about them with other people who aren't blind fanboys/girls.

In StrikerS, they seem to spend quite some time together (see ep 21). Maybe Yuuno's a lolicon, so he dumped Nanoha when she grew up, to get with chibi-Arf.

Come Fly with Me was very well written, however my personal bias against Nanoha/Fate prevents me from elevating it to the masterpiece level. But again, it was a well written piece of fiction. Some friendly criticism though is that you use 'was' in a few place that you should have used 'were' in.

French grammar is definitely on par with English grammar, difficulty-wise.

And in terms of conjugating verbs, which is the subject here, English is far simpler than French, Latin, German, and probably a whole lot of other languages. Heck, for French, I have a whole book just for that subject, and it counts 82 different types of verbs.

I always thought Hayate would make a much more 'stable' girlfriend for Yuuno, not running around in a high-risk profession and being prone to wild mood swings like Nanoha and without all the weird baggage Nanoha inevitably accumulates as a result of her actions.

That said, I'm fine with Nanoha and Yuuno hooking up, and I laughed my head off at the end of episode 26, especially seeing all the fangirls who tried so hard to push Nanoha/Fate basically reacting like they'd been slapped across the face.

Well, it's obvious the real reason Chrono was married to Amy was to get him out of the way. If he'd gotten involved with Fate that would have threatened the ever profitable yuri subtext and also probably taken away screen time for some of the girls; that's the same reason Yuuno's hiding out in library corridors and whacking off to dirty magazines. This show has always been about making lots and lots of money and the producers aren't going to take the chance of harming the cash cow by disrupting the formula. There will be less romantic development in this series than in your average Rumiko Takahashi series, and that's saying something.

Obvious to whom? I personally felt that the relationship between Chrono and Amy seem to be a natural course. Long-term working partnership between opposite genders always seem to end up at the altar, or at least that's how it is usually portrayed in Japanese dramas (and maybe Asian dramas in general. I have rarely, if ever, watched any American drama, so I cannot speak for that) and is something I have come to expect. It is almost as classic as teenagers getting killed in a slasher flick. I am surprised it came as a surprise to some people.

Aside from the apparent reality that almost every medium and material I chance upon have at least an individual sticking a "cash cow" label on it as though the act of doing so might go out of fashion, I must point out that your allegation that "the producers aren't going to take the chance of harming the cash cow by disrupting the formula." appears flawed to me.

They already, it seems to me, changed the formula from how it was in the original series and in A's. Lastly, I am not certain what the presence, or lacking, of romantic development is supposed to be saying. I am afraid that from my perspective, only you seem to know. So, I think you might have to elaborate on that.

I think what >>64 means by 'lack of romantic development' is you're never going to see a boy anywhere near Nanoha or Fate in a romantic context because the gay tease is what keeps people watching. That's the "formula" (and this show is making a TON of money, especially considering the time of day it airs). And it's only gotten more blatant over time, with Nanoha and Fate now sleeping in the same bed in lingerie, Subaru groping Teana's breasts, etc. Pairing either of them with a boy would infuriate the section of the fandom that wants to see magical girl lesbians so it'll never happen.

By the same token however, the yuri will never become explicit because then the tease is gone and the non-yuri fans will be angry. So there won't be any serious romantic involvement for either Nanoha or Fate. There's been 50 episodes spanning 10 years so far and they're still both unattached unless you count their incredibly chaste apparent hetero-life-partnership.

BTW, in the A's to StrikerS manga when Arf brings up Chrono and Amy's impending marriage, Chrono looks annoyed and says "Didn't have much choice..."

Well, Fate is the God mother. If you're catholic, you probably have one. God parents are basically just a second set of parents that support your parents in raising you. That's pretty much what Fate is doing. She's simply helping Nanoha raise Vivio. They're not mutually raising her like a couple would. Although it may seem that way in the series, but that's just because Fate is always around. She won't have that active of a role in raising Vivio now that her and Nanoha are in different units.

Also, sleeping in the same bed is within the realm of something close friends do. And there's no indication that they do something other than just sleep.

It is true that we can't say for sure what is going on between on the "friends"; however everything that is shown (and we can only make observations on what is seen) is not unheard of between friends, even in other animes where the girls are definitely not lovers.
And the attitude of Nanoha toward Yuuno leads me to believe that Nanoha herself does not have sexual feelings toward Fate, unless she is bi, but she definitely is not the same around Yuuno as she is around Fate (is there a difference in her feelings then?). Just speculation.
As for Subaru and Tia, Tia is a very vulnerable and caring person that hides herself behind a shell of irritability and independence, most likely due to the death of her brother. So Subaru likes to harass her (mentally and sexually) to show just how vulnerable and shy Tia really is, I think. Nothing more than a easily teased friend and one who likes to tease.

This doujinshi has a lot in it. Yuuno/Nanoha, Fate/Chrono, there's still some Nanoha/Fate in it, but there's also stuff involving Arf, the Wolkenritter (but no Hayate. WTF?), Chrono and the short haired cat twin (too lazy to look up her name).

It's pretty hilarious too (it's in japanese, but you can still get the gist of what's going on). There's this particularly awesome running gag about how Hayate abuses Graham's credit card.
